ROCKFORD, IL  -- A Probation Officer in The Winnebago County Adult Probation Department no longer has to peruse pages and pages of daily arrest reports just to discover if one of the probationers assigned to him was arrested. That’s because the new Email Notification feature of the Jano Data Systems, Inc. CLERICUS MAGNUS ^® Adult Probation module automatically sends the Probation Officer an email if any of the probationers assigned to him/her has been arrested on a new charge.

Harold Hawkinson, Manager of Adult Probation for the Winnebago County Probation Department said, "We are very pleased with the benefits this program brings to our office. Prior to the implementation of this new email notification system, we were making over 50 copies of the Arrest Report each day. And then we had to distribute a copy of the report to each Probation Officer. Once the Probation Officer got the report, he was required to search the entire Arrest Report to see if any of his probationers were arrested. With this new software from Jano, my probation officers don’t have to spend time reviewing arrest reports to search for violators. The email notification system automatically identifies the potential violator and send a notice to the assigned Probation Officer, thereby giving that Probation Officer the opportunity to swiftly take the necessary corrective action".

Craig Danekas, Director of Information Technology for the County of Winnebago said that "... this [email notification system] technology worked well within our existing infrastructure and did not require any additional hardware or system software".
